I didn't know where the first event would be hosted, because the day I joined was the first day, the community chose another platform than the one mentioned in all the links. I was lucky though, because Urinal Pooper uploaded a track with lyrics containing "...now we're here on dubtrack fm". That's where I knew where to find all the people I didn't yet know. I fell in love with the community and the music they created instantly, and hardly ever missed any of its events ever since. I can't overstate how much I have progressed as a musician and composer due to the exposure to all the kinds of genres there are, and getting valuable feedback every week, and try to help others progressing where I can.
